Learn how to draw various plant forms with the vibrant colors of pastels!

Draw from living plants, learn pastel techniques, and discover how to add abstract elements to your work. You can learn how to manipulate the pastels to enhance color, blend color, define lines, and add depth and definition to your drawing. Each class offers the option of making a variety of drawings, using different plants. Experimentation is encouraged. You will be guided to see how plant forms can mimic limbs and express human emotion. This course combines still life drawing with making your own interpretation of the subject matter (plant). Instructor demos will be included for assistance and guidance, as needed.

Materials provided: Pastel colors, drawing paper, various plants to draw from.

Please wear clothing that you are ok with getting pastel smudges on. Pastel is washable but may leave stains on certain fabrics.

Pre-registration is required one week in advance of the course. Each registration is for one individual 16 years and older.
